With great pleasure, we present to you THE FLOOD – the song that now serves as the fourth single release from the upcoming debut album  THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT. It delves into the battle against mental health issues, navigating the ups and downs, and the urge for assistance before it’s too late to reach out.

THEME & TEXT

The fundamental question is: What if it’s already too late? Every whisper of uncertainty throws us off balance. We’re practically swept away and torn apart by the flood of negative thoughts about ourselves. Is there a way out, or has everything already gone down the drain?

“Clear the enigma to save me from dead”

Uncertain whether this thicket of negative thoughts can be unraveled before it suffocates.

„This is the day, the day you can’t get away“

Describes the lowest point reached, where one firmly believes that today is the day everything ends.

With this single, we’ve once again aimed for a fine balance between melody and intensity. This is evident in the chorus, characterized by emotive vocals, as well as in the verses, where Alex from The Disaster Area adds his screaming vocals, perfectly enhancing the emotional depth

WRITING & RECORDING

We aimed to create a song that all metal fans would love, combining clean parts with catchy synthesizers and hard breakdowns. THE FLOOD our fourth single, perfectly showcases this contrast and holds a special place for us. Dominik (guitarist) developed the song’s core structure, from the drum’n’bass synths to the heavy guitar parts. Once Mike (drummer) finished the drum demos, the track went to Nico (singer), who wrote the lyrics with contributions from Dominik, Mike, Thomas, and Lorenz. Dave (producer) added his unique touch and oversaw the entire recording process, shaping the song into what it is now. We brought in Alex from THE DISASTER AREA to add the final polish, enhancing the track with his emotional clean parts and powerful fry-screams in the breakdown. Finally, Aljoscha from Pitchback Studios mastered the song, giving it the finishing touches.
